Final Trans-Media Project

Final Mobile Website:

Rationale:

We choose the Coastal Clean-Up event,  coming up with a ‘Trash'ure hunt’ (treasure hunt) idea. Targeting families and young children around 7-11 years old, our aim was to create a fun event this young age group would be interested in attending, with aspects of our trans-media designs targeting parents/adults, passing on the 'Love Your Coast' message.

With the Trashure Hunt idea we selected a pirate theme, which was fitting being a coastal event. This pirate theme was carried throughout our trans-media touch points; being used in our imagery and language. We also used a visual style we thought would be interesting for children, using bright colours, reminiscent of the beach, summer and similar to president artist styles which target children.

A further technique used was cartoon character visuals making the style fun and playful. Our style has worked well across the different trans-media touch points and is an event children and their families will attend, enjoy and learn from.

Reflection:

We learnt through this project how to create correctly sized webpages, getting appropriate font sizes and photos making it legible and readable. We also learnt how to illustrate fonts, and communicate better targeting children.
We are most proud of how our poster came together and how it illustrated the rest of the designs. We are pleased with the cohesive look over the trans-media work. This is something that at the beginning of the year we would have struggled with and over the year we learnt how to do and create all of these things successfully.
Overall our group worked really well and we learnt how to use each others strengths to successfully complete everything on time and to the best of our abilities. We made a pretty cool event we are proud of.

Lecture 11 - Week 12 - Final Critiques

Final Critiques and developments -

We have developed the certificate/flyer and this is how it is looking now going into the final. We need to get good card too to get them printed onto.

Fay said the website and the mobile website is good and it is nice and interactive, all of our aspects cater to children and adults and they are nice light and fun.

We also got a critique saying the date isn't noticeable enough, we have changed this and are now just needing the address to fit better with the rest..

The website and mobile devices are looking really nice now as well and we are happy with where they are and will make the minor final changes then this will be complete for hand in.

Lecture 10 - Homework - Mobile Webpage Refinement

Creating more pages and bigger type for the mobile webpage -

Developing the mobile site further - this is starting to look better but there are parts where I need to work out the screen size and make sure it flows correctly. I also feel as though the type is still a little too small?

Further Development for class:

The size now I am happy with and I feel as though it looks nice and as though it is a real, interactive and fun website.

I also added in a live - feed feature for the mobile site with small stories from children that would be shown at the live event, it will entice more people to come to the event, and also get more children to interact online with our webpage. The page also shows clearly the target audience for our webpage.

Screenshots from my phone:

From this one slight thing I did notice is that the menu bar is too high at the top of the screen and this will need moving slightly.

Also we have a problem with in-vision and our colours, they look totally fine in the actual files and on the phone, but through the computer the colours are off and not right -

This site is ready now for a final critique tomorrow before hand-in on Friday.
