We choose the Coastal Clean-Up event, coming up with a ‘Trash'ure
hunt’ (treasure hunt) idea. Targeting families and young children around 7-11
years old, our aim was to create a fun event this young age group would be
interested in attending, with aspects of our trans-media designs targeting
parents/adults, passing on the 'Love Your Coast' message.
With the Trashure Hunt idea we selected a pirate theme, which was
fitting being a coastal event. This pirate theme was carried throughout our
trans-media touch points; being used in our imagery and language. We also used
a visual style we thought would be interesting for children, using bright colours,
reminiscent of the beach, summer and similar to president artist styles which
target children.
A further technique used was cartoon character visuals making the style fun and playful. Our style has worked well across the different trans-media touch points and is an event children and their families will attend, enjoy and learn from.
