What is this event?

This event is to get people out and clean up the coasts and beaches all over the world, through the organisations supplied on stream you can create your own coastal clean up event and campaign it through the website to people already interested and signed up.

What do they do there?

People will gather and collect rubbish from the beaches and coast lines to prevent rubbish from getting into the oceans and ending up as animal food. Rubbish is clogging up our oceans and in 2050 there will be more rubbish than fish in our oceans.

What activities happen at beaches/oceans?

There are many events, bbq's, events, games, fishing, horse racing, concerts, bomb-fires, social events, sun bathing, boogy boarding and much more. We could use the beaches resources to draw people into our social event and attract the audiences.

What beaches are there?

There are sand beaches, rock beaches, bays all around the country where the ocean or lake meets land. They are all equally as important to keep clean for the wildlife.

What disasters are we preparing for?

The global crisis of no fish and far too polluted oceans and beaches that people won't be able to use any more at they are too polluted and not looked after.

Why are we cleaning the beaches?

We are cleaning the beaches to keep rubbish and pollution out of the ocean and away from marine life. We need to protect the animals and stop beaches from becoming too clogged of plastic and rubbish.

What do we need to clean the beaches?

Lots of volunteers and equipment for them. We need gloves and bags, first aid kits, strong woven flour or fertiliser sacks are perfect and they can also be washed and used again next time, which will save money and create less rubbish. You will also need scales, a bin, clipboards, empty sacks and a marker to write the categories on the empty sacks during data collection.

Who are the people that go to beaches/oceans?

The people that go to beaches and oceans are most people in New Zealand. Everyone uses and take advantage of our awesome beaches and everyone needs to take responsibility for cleaning up our beaches.
